The first
trailer for TopSpin 2k25 has been released, featuring 24 professional tennis
players, including Roger Federer, Serena Williams, and John McEnroe. The
classic tennis game makes a comeback after 13 years and is set to launch on
April 26 for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
The game
will include both current tennis stars and legendary players. The standard
version of the cover showcases Williams and Federer, while the Grand Slam
edition (digital only) features Iga Swiatek, Carlos Alcaraz, and Frances Tiafoe
in its deluxe edition.
TopSpin
2k25 introduces an 'Academy' mode where players can receive training from the
American legend John McEnroe, who lent his voice to the character. Another
notable inclusion is Andre Agassi, available as one of the playable characters
for users.
Additionally,
the game offers a 'MyCareer' mode, allowing users to customize their appearance
while traveling through 15 tournaments worldwide and playing on 48 different
courts. Grand Slam events will be featured, and the deluxe edition includes
alternative outfits for Swiatek, Alcaraz, and Tiafoe in the 'New Wave Pack.'
The Polish
world No. 1 expressed her pride in being featured on the cover of TopSpin 2k25,
commenting on her joy in appearing alongside Williams and Federer, two of her
tennis inspirations: “I am excited to feature on the front cover of a game,
especially alongside other legends like Serena Williams and Roger Federer, who
I have grown up looking up to in many ways," Iga Swiatek said.
“It’s a
pretty cool process actually - I wore a special suit that tracked the motion of
my game, which gets ‘scanned’ and uploaded into the game," she added.
"So everything from a serve to a backhand is carefully tracked and
personal to me as opposed to being computer generated,” she added.
