Greece’s tennis star
Stefanos Tsitsipas and Spain’s Paula
Badosa have unfollowed each other on Instagram after announcing their breakup.
The former couple was one of the most famous ones in the world of tennis and had
a separate fanbase.
On Sunday, Badosa announced on social media that both tennis stars have decided to go on their 'own paths' after much consideration. "After careful consideration and many cherished moments
together, Stefanos and I have decided to amicably part ways,” she wrote. “We
have shared a journey filled with love and learning, and it is as friends with
immense mutual respect that we now choose to move forward on our own paths. We
are grateful for the support of our friends, family, and all who have been part
of our story.”
Both tennis stars had a difficult time on the court during their relationship, which seemingly played a role in their decision to part ways, as the year 2023 did not prove to be a good one for either of them. Tsitsipas struggled with form, especially in the second half of the season, where he was knocked out of Wimbledon in the fourth round and from the US Open in the second round. On the other hand, Badosa struggled with injuries throughout 2023, where she only managed to feature in one out of the four Grand Slams.
