Guido Pella has admitted that he may not return to the ATP Tour when it resumes after the Coronavirus pandemic due to Morton's neuroma.
Pella was diagnosed with it during his best year of his career as he went up to number 20 in the ATP Rankings including winning his first ATP Tour title in Sao Paulo.
He also reached his first Grand Slam Quarter-Final at Wimbledon and while he played this year, it has been intermittent.
“I don’t know if this pandemic isn’t the end of my career. At the moment everything is uncertain. I don’t know if I will return to the court and I feel pain in six months, when I return to competitions on the circuit.
I cannot predict what will happen in the future. Let’s see what happens in training. I will take a step-by-step approach”, said Guido Pella.
“I don’t think tennis will resume this year. There are a lot of risks of being infected by the virus involving travels around the world”, continued Pella.
