Tennys Sandgren triumphed at the Altec Styslinger Tennis Exhibition when he defeated Sam Querrey in the final.
After the first day full of two-set matches at the Altec Styslinger Tennis Exhibition, the second day got more exciting with 2 finalists being known as well as 2 interesting 3 set matches.
Tennys Sandgren and
Sam Querrey were the best two players at the tournament, but only the one could win on the final day.
The final day of the tournament began with a match for the 7th place. JC Aragone faced
Steve Johnson as both players were searching for the first and only victory at the tournament. Aragone wanted this more as he triumphed 4-2, 4-1 in just 36 minutes.
One of the biggest favorites for victory at the tournament,
Hubert Hurkacz played only for the 5th place against Mackenzie McDonald. After losing their first match, both players triumphed in the second. Therefore, they wanted to add 2nd victory at the tournament. World no. 29, Hubert Hurkacz showed his qualities when he triumphed 3-4(9), 4-2, 4-2 to finish 5th at the Altec Styslinger Tennis Exhibition.
The match for the 3rd place saw two players that just missed the final battling for the 'bronze medal'. Youngster
Brandon Nakashima took on
Reilly Opelka as the match reached two tie-breaks. Nakashima dominated in both as he triumphed 4-3(2), 4-3(3) in 50 minutes.
Tennys Sandgren and
Sam Querrey were the only two undefeated players ahead of the final match. However, only one could remain undefeated after the final and lift the trophy at the Altec Styslinger Tennis Exhibition.
28-years-old Sandgren showed that he really wants to win the tournament during the final. After winning 16 out of 22 rallies in the first sent, he continued in a dominant style also in the second. Sandgren triumphed 4-1, 4-1 in less than 30 minutes to become the champion at the Altec Styslinger Tennis Exhibition. Both will soon need to forget about this match as they will meet in
one team at the
All-American Team Cup.
