Travis Scott and
John McEnroe continue to be at odds surrounding a Nike collaboration that involves the 'Mac Attack' sneakers made famous by the tennis legend.
In a video released by the famous rapper, Scott can be seen vandalizing John McEnroe's plaque with his Cactus Jack logo which he was at odds with being changed. The dispute surrounded Scott not wanting to rename his brand for a special edition of the Mac Attack sneakers.
Cactus Mac snub - WWE style or real?
The new edition revives its iconic mesh and leather construction, with black and blue checkerboard tongue label with a red logo at its heart. The shoes which were the subject of McEnroe storming out of a meeting were asked to be changed to Cactus Mac by McEnroe in a tribute to the tennis great.
However due to his branding, Scott insisted on keeping his Cactus Jack name. The tension escalated as a video from a Zoom meeting with Nike leaked which showed McEnroe yelling at Scott for disrespecting him and the shoes. Scott said that 'Cactus Mac' sounded like a burger. Now the feud has reached new hostility.
But also could be simply a storyline to promote the shoes akin to WWE in that they will both take jibes at each other to get people interested and then finally release both shoes. Time will tell, but at least for now Scott will have drawn the ire of the great American.
