Nick Kyrgios continued to show his disdain towards players who found themselves embroiled in doping rows last year this time being Iga Swiatek as he made jibes towards the former World No.1. But tennis fans rallied behind Swiatek and called him out.
Swiatek was leading Dayana Yastremska 5-0 in the first set of her second round match at indian Wells before a point of contention was there as a point that should've gone the way of Yastremska went back to Swiatek allowing her to continue. While Yastremska hit a passing shot winner past her in response, a large section of the tennis community weren't best pleased at Swiatek not handing the point to Yastremska.
But Kyrgios responded saying 'clean' player which elicited responses from fans aimed at the Aussie. Many referencing him retiring and crying at Indian Wells last week. "He's victimising and bullying proven innocent people. That makes him a little man," one wrote.
"I thought you would learn some humility after your retirement the other day. Guess I was wrong," another wrote.
Others then referenced the wrist. "Stop typing Nick, give that wrist some rest," one wrote.
"Maybe the wrist problem is from holding a cellphone," another said.
"Christ, are you still yapping little fella," a further user wrote. "Yeah you are too clean that you go play a match where you know you will have to retire anyway," another said.
He's not talking about the sport, he's victimising and bullying proven innocent people. That makes him a little man
