Jack Draper sealed the UTS Grand Final in London on Sunday evening, but it was
Andrey Rublev taking the headlines once again for the wrong reasons in relation to his anger and outburst on the court.
Rublev in recent months has come under fire for smashing racquets off his knees and shouting at photographers during matches and admitted himself recently that he does have issues controlling his anger on court. This reared its head during UTS.
Between quarters at 11-11 next point wins, the umpire appeared to miss his signal for a three-point card. One of the innovations and rules that UTS has and this incensed the Russian ace.
He then missed his serve but was allowed to retake it leading to the point in which Rune ended up moving 2-0 up. But Rune himself called it a 'sh*tshow' and Rublev threatened not to return for the third quarter. The worst part though was the DJ rubbing salt in the wounds. He played the song Bad Day while Rublev was having a go at the umpire as Rublev got even more annoyed.
