Stan Wawrinka faced Alan Karatsev in the final of the Prague Challenger as the Swiss got his first two-set victory in Prague to win the title.
The journey of the 3-time Grand Slam champion in Prague was very interesting. Wawrinka lost a set in 4 out of 5 matches he played and needed to come back from a set down in three. However, the Swiss always showed his great class to eventually claim the title at the Prague Challenger.
In the final, he faced Alan Karatsev who didn't lose a set in Prague before the final match. He defeated Haase, Vesely, Gulbis, Laaksonen and Herbert. However, none of these players got a Grand Slam trophy and it showed in the final match.
Wawrinka used all of his experience and didn't experience any major difficulties. After not converting 3 breakpoints in the first set, he has won it 7-6(2). In the second set, he managed to convert one of the three break points to win the match 7-6(2), 6-4, and become the champion of the Challenger in the Czech capital.
