Caroline Wozniacki will take on Serena Williams in her farewell match at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen next May, it has been revealed.
The arena which can hold up to 12,500 people will see rivals and friends compete for the final time against each other in front of what will likely be a packed out crowd.
Wozniacki said about the match which will serve as her send off before retirement that she cannot wait to play in front of her home crowd and to play the 'greatest female player ever' makes it even better.
“The time has come when I stop my career and I am very much looking forward to playing my very last home game in front of such a large audience. It will be something very special and a day I really look forward to.” Wozniacki told tv2.dk.
“The end point of my career cannot be better than at home and against tennis’ greatest female player ever. It’s going to be a magnificent night I’ll never forget, I’m sure.” She added.
