Linda Fruhvirtova played some amazing tennis down under and she's continuing to do so in Thailand beating Bethanie Mattek-Sands 6-3 6-1 in Hua Hin.
Fruhvirtova was a bit lucky with the draw here getting a doubles specialist who rarely plays singles. It was a match that went as expected considering the circumstances with her win coming easily in two sets. The start of the match saw Mattek-Sands give Fruhvirtova a battle but the young Czech player for the most part was able to control that well.
6-3 was the score at the end of the opening set with the youngster breaking the serve of the American three times. She was broken twice as well so it's not like she played as well as she can play. It was a competitive set overall. The second set wasn't as Fruhvirtova finally found her clean ball-striking and she rushed to a 6-1 finish.
She lost her serve once in that set as well but broke Mattek-Sands four times en route to the 6-1 finish. A solid start for her in Hua Hin.
