2022 Abierto Akron Zapopan WTA Entry List with Raducanu, Keys and Stephens

The Abierto Akron Zapopan is a recent addition to the WTA calendar, first making it's debut in 2019 in the wonderful city of Guadalajara, Mexico.

A WTA 250 event, this hardcourt tournament has seen just two champions with Veronika Kudermetova lifting the trophy in 2019 while Sara Sorribes Tormo triumphed last year. There was no edition held in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Sorribes Tormo will be returning to defend her title, and joining her are a pair of US Open champions, Emma Raducanu (2021) and Sloane Stephens (2017). The resurgent Madison Keys is also scheduled to compete, alongside Colombian tennis star Camila Osorio and Spaniard Nuria Parrizas-Diaz.

The event is scheduled to run from February 21-27, 2022.
