The two best players this week in Rome will deservedly meet in the final as Iga Swiatek will play Ons Jabeur for the trophy.
Iga Swiatek extended her winning streak to 27 matches in Rome and she will be going for number 28 tomorrow against Jabeur. She has a negative record against Jabeur losing both matches she played against her last year so there will certainly be a motive for Swiatek. Another reason to win is to defend her trophy which she won last year by smashing Pliskova 6-0 6-0 in the final.
Jabeur won't certainly give up that easily as the Tunisian is currently red hot winning in Madrid last week and continuing her run this week in Rome. She has also been a comeback queen fighting back twice from her opponent serving for the match. There is simply so much confidence in her play as she too has an active winning streak of over 10 matches.
Stylistically Jabeur can challenge Swiatek but the Polish player has been so much better than everybody else this year that it's hard seeing her lose this match. She is too good and she is spectacular on clay as well. As good as Jabeur is anything but an easy win for Swiatek would be a surprise.
