Two weeks of tennis at SW19 comes down to this match and we'll see whether Ons Jabeur or Elena Rybakina will be declared the queen of Wimbledon.
It's an interesting match on paper between two players with vastly different styles. Sure, both of them like to hit the ball hard but Ons Jabeur is a player that employs a lot of variety in her game that looks incredibly stylish on the court. Contrary to that, Elena Rybakina hits the ball hard and only hits the ball hard ploughing her way through opponents most of the time.
Those were the styles that got these two players to the final and it's quite similar to last year. We had Ashleigh Barty with a more balanced game and Karolina Pliskova, the heavy hitter. It was Barty who captured that one and Jabeur is favoured by the odds as well. They favoured Halep and Rybakina wiped the court with Halep rather easily.
So how will this go? It's tough to say but there are things that will need to go right for both if they hope to win. Jabeur will need to play a flawless match, she can't allow herself to toy with her food as she often tends to do. The serve needs to be there and the drop shot as well. Rybakina is a tall player and she doesn't venture forward willingly. If Jabeur can keep her guessing, she'll have the power to dictate play.
For Rybakina, it's quite simple. She needs the serve to keep the rallies short because the longer it goes on the more it favours Jabeur. She will also need to pick her spots to venture to the net perfectly as she did against Halep because that's one way to keep the points short. The H2H has Ons with a 2-1 lead yet neither match came on grass.
The only certainty is that we will have a new player inscribed on the trophy and the famed champions wall. Who will it be? Find out later today.
