Following the conclusion of
Wimbledon, the WTA will make a brief return to clay courts for the
Hungarian Grand Prix tournament, which will be held in Budapest, Hungary from July 17-23, 2023.
A WTA 250 event, the Budapest Open will showcase several players who would like one more attempt to capture a title on clay this season. American
Bernarda Pera will be present to defend the title she won last year, alongside compatriot
Taylor Townsend.
Potapova and Putintseva to feature
Russian
Anastasia Potapova is set to be the top seed at the event, and the World No.21 will be joined by compatriot Yulia Putinseva. Joining the duo are Romanian veteran
Sorana Cirstea and Chinese star Shuai Zhang.
