Following the conclusion of the upcoming
Wimbledon Championships, WTA players will have the opportunity to transition from grass back to clay as they compete at the
Palermo Ladies Open from July 15-21, 2024.
A WTA 250 event, the Palermo Ladies Open will give competitors a chance to warm up on clay before heading over to Paris for the 2024 Olympics Games. The tennis event of the Olympics will be held on the hallowed courts of Roland Garros, from July 27-August 4, 2024.
Svitolina set to lead the line-up
Former World No.3
Elina Svitolina is scheduled to be the top seed at the event, although a wild card entry has been reserved for a top 10 player who has yet to be selected. Nonetheless, Svitolina will be joined by the Chinese duo of
Yue Yuan and Xinyu Wang.
Italy will be well represented, with Elisabetta Cocciaretto, 2022 finalist Lucia Bronzetti, Martina Trevisan and Sara Errani all set to compete. Spaniard
Paula Badosa has been given a wild card entry, and the 2021 Indian Wells champion will be joined by Australian Ajla Tomljanovic, who was also granted a wild card entry to the event. Below is the full list of entrants.
