Iga Swiatek has been number one in the world for a while, actually, precisely 60 weeks today which is quite a milestone for a player whom many didn't consider likely to take over.
Ashleigh Barty was number one for a while and there were some players that were considered good candidates to replace her. Not many thought of Iga Swiatek as one however she did just that and it wasn't even close. She took the number one spot thanks to her amazing play and still keeps it.
It's been exactly 60 weeks since she took over as today's new WTA Rankings update started her 60th week at the top of women's tennis. It's been a deserving run for the Polish player who won two grand slams since taking over as number one. She'll be looking to make it three at Roland Garros where she's the defending champion.
