2019 US Open champion, Bianca Andreescu should have dragged Canada to the Fed Cup Finals in Budapest, however, she was yet not 100% fit. In a new video named 'In conversation with Bianca Andreescu', ITF asked the Canadian questions about team competitions and more.
"I was privileged enough to play on a team at a very young age. And I've had so many amazing memories playing Fed Cup. It's really one of my favorite tournaments of the year because tennis is an individual sport but it's the time when you can actually be part of the team. And you are not only playing for yourself but you are playing for everyone who is supporting you, and for Canada of course."
Andreescu was also asked about her maiden Grand Slam title when she said: "It's just been a dream come true. I've accomplished so many of my goals last year. To accomplish that at such a young age, I think it can be a good thing for confidence and for exposure. But I think it's also bad in a way because I haven't really had a chance to actually be on the WTA circuit a little bit before my success. So physically I don't think I was at my best and I think that showed with my shoulder and now my knee."
