Abu Dhabi Open 2021 Sunday's Schedule of play with Kenin, Muguruza, Svitolina

The fifth day of the WTA 500 Abu Dhabi event brings eight third-round singles encounter, with 16 players battling to reach the quarter-final at Zayed Sports City's International Tennis Centre.

The 4th seed Aryna Sabalenka has won the previous 11 matches, seeking the 12th consecutive victory against Ons Jabeur, who beat her at Roland Garros last year in three sets. Elena Rybakina and Daria Kasatkina hit the court after them, facing each other for the second time after Ostrava at the end of 2020. Garbine Muguruza scored two convincing victories in Abu Dhabi so far, hoping for more of the same against Maria Sakkari, who defeated Cor Gauff on Saturday in straight sets.

Sofia Kenin is the top seed at some WTA event for the second time, passing the opening two rounds and facing the 13th seed Yulia Putintseva in the battle for the quarters. The 2nd seed Elina Svitolina and the 17th seed Ekaterina Alexandrova wrap up the Center court action in their second meeting after Roland Garros last year.

On Court 1, Marta Kostyuk and Tamara Zidansek play for a massive quarter-final at the beginning of the season, followed by Sara Sorribes Tormo and Anastasia Gasanova, who stunned Karolina Pliskova on Saturday. Paula Badosa and Veronika Kudermetova close the day on the second court.
