Retired tennis star
Ana Ivanovic took some time to create her perfect tennis player, adding attributes from several superstars including WTA greats
Serena Williams and
Steffi Graf.
Ivanovic, who reached a career-high ranking of World No.1 in 2008, won her maiden Grand Slam title at the French Open that year. Furthermore, she also finished runner-up at the 2007 French Open and the 2008 Australian Open. The Serbian star had several ups-and-downs during her career after reaching the pinnacle of the sport, before retiring in 2016.
In a recent video post to social media, Ivanovic was asked to create her tennis player. The 36-year old chose the players based on their serve, strength/power, endurance, slice, drop shot, forehand, and backhand. She chose Serena Williams' serve and strength/power,
Caroline Wozniacki's endurance, Steffi Graf's slice, and
Ons Jabeur's drop shot. When it came to the forehand, she opted for that of Iga Swiatek, although she did fancy her own forehand as well. Regarding the backhand however, she picked compatriot and ATP star Novak Djokovic, whom she believes has the best backhand in the world.
"Well, probably the best backhand in the world is Novak (Djokovic), so I'm going to go from women to men on that one." Ivanovic said in the video.
