Nick Kyrgios has opened up about his time at the
Laver Cup, and recalls partying with Swiss legend
Roger Federer at the event.
The former World No.13 faced Federer thrice in the competition, at the 2017, 2018, 2019 editions. Representing Team World while Federer played for Team Europe, the 20-time Grand Slam champion emerged victorious on all three occasions. The duo met a total of eight times between 2015 and 2019, with Kyrgios winning just once, their first encounter in 2015 at the Madrid Masters.
Kyrgios highlights Federer's ability to "put away" champagne
In a recent Q&A session with fans on Instagram, Kyrgios was asked to disclose something he had done with the Swiss Maestro that others did not know about. Kyrgios responded by recalling an instance where he saw Federer 'putting away' champagne when they were at a party together.
"Can you talk about something u've [sic.] done with the goat rf [Roger Federer] that no one knows," the fan's question read.
"We went out after laver cup one year. ... Team World was partying obviously. .... We turned around, and Team Europe walked in. ... Roger can put away champagne [champagne glasses emoji]. ... I was like damn hahahaha," Kyrgios responded.
