A Canadian sports legend at only 22 😎 With the US Open title in 2019 and the Mixed Doubles runner-up result at Roland-Garros, @Bandreescu_ is breaking new records! 💥 @Rogers
Bianca Andreescu is fairly young but the Canadian has had some highlights in her career like the US Open win and now she became the first Canadian player to ever reach a grand slam final in singles and doubles.
It's been a very interesting journey for Andreecu so far in her career as she broke out in a major way a few years ago winning the US Open.
She did it in spectacular fashion beating Serena Williams in the final but since then it's been mostly struggles. Whether it's struggling with injuries, mental health or something else, it hasn't been going spectacularly well for her.
This year's Roland Garros though was a positive outing. She scored some impressive wins in the singles and made her way towards a doubles final, her first doubles final in her career. By doing that, Andreescu became the first Canadian player to ever make a grand slam finals in singles or doubles alike.
It's interesting that nobody before her managed to do it but as the Tweet below said, she's officially a Canadian sports legend at only 22. Hopefully, much more legendary things to come for her.
