Young Canadian clinches another victory on Rogers Cup as she beats no.5 Bertens 6-1, 6-7(7), 6-4 on her way to glory in front of the home crowd.

The match started slowly when the play was suspended just after 4 points due to weather. When players got back onto the court Andreescu did not let her opponent win more than one game and started the match with winning the 1st set 6-1 in just 32 minutes.
In the second set, Kiki started with a break and got to the lead, but rising start Andreescu managed to get the break back 3 games later. Even though Bertens did not succeed in converting any of the 7 break balls she had in the rest of the set and also faced 1 match ball, she showed that she begins into TOP 5 and won this set 9-7 in the tie-break.
Andreescu turned out to be a 3-set specialist at this tournament and didn't disappoint even in this match when she won the last set 6-4. Dutch did not end the match as she desired and helped her Canadian opponent to convert the match balls by making 2 double faults in a row when she was serving for staying in the match.
Young champion from Indian Wells will be facing Karolina Pliskova in the battle for a semifinal spot on Rogers Cup. Andreescu does have a 6-0 record against TOP 5 players and she will have a chance to improve her streak.
