Draw Last 16 in Rogers Cup

In the men's part of Rogers Cup tournament the former champion Rafael Nadal won his first match on his way to defend the title from the 2018 tournament. On the other hand 4th seeded Tsitsipas did not manage to get through to the last 16. Another player struggling with reaching 3rd round was Nishikori who was stopped by experienced Gasquet, who plays for the first time on hard surface this season.

Women's tournament featured bigger surprise when world no. 1 Barty lost in her first match in Toronto and allowed 2nd seeded Osaka or another former world no. 1 Pliskova to reach again the spot number 1 in women's tennis. Making her way through into the 3rd round Bianca Andreescu seems to be ready for her next big trophy this year.
