Mirra Andreeva put together two impressive wins as a 15-year-old at the
Madrid Open and she now added a third win as a 16-year-old by beating
Magda Linette 6-3 6-3.
It seems like we have a proper new tennis prodigy as 16-year Andreeva keeps on winning in Madrid. She's yet to lose a match this year and she's yet to lose in Madrid. Another great performance saw her take down top 20-ranked Magda Linette who reached the Australian Open semi-finals earlier this year.
It was a good match from the Russian as she took an early break and despite Linette pulling it back, Andreeva was able to break her once more to finish off the opening set 6-3. The second set saw her battled well against Linette once more not allowing the Polish player to impose her will as she generally likes to do.
She attacked the second serve with great success and outplayed Linette in the crucial rallies which was very impressive to see. Up next for her is Aryna Sabalenka. That's a proper challenge.
