"Anotha one, stay bothered": Jessica Pegula, Coco Gauff among others praise Danielle Collins amid Charleston Open triumph

Several colleagues of Danielle Collins congratulated her on her title at the 2024 Charleston Open, including Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, and Victoria Azarenka. The world No. 15 secured her second consecutive title by dominating Daria Kasatkina (No. 11) with a score of 6-2, 6-1 in the final.

The American extends her winning streak to 13 consecutive victories, including her first WTA 1000 title at the Miami Open a week ago. Collins once again claimed the WTA 500 Charleston title, with wins over top players: Paula Badosa, Ons Jabeur, Sloane Stephens, Elis Mertens, and Maria Sakkari.

The 30-year-old tennis player is on the best streak of her career in her final season as a professional, as she confirmed her retirement at the beginning of the year.

Several colleagues left their congratulations for Collins on social media, including Jessica Pegula, Coco Gauff, Victoria Azarenka, Alison Riske-Armitraj, Ashlyn Krueger, among others: "@danimalcollines anotha one, stay bothered," Pegula wrote on her Instagram story.

The former world No. 1 Azarenka congratulated the American and also Camila Osorio, champion of this week's WTA 250 Bogota: "Congratulations to Danielle Collins on another title! Impressive!. And also to @CamiOsorioTenis for a title in Bogota!”

The 2-times US Open champion Tracy Austin shared a photo on Instagram with Collins: "Congrats Danielle Collins on a spectacular few weeks-winning @miamiopen and adding another title @creditonecharlestonopen! Fun to watch such a high level of tennis taking the ball early, with power and accuracy. #bravo," she wrote. Coco Gauff shared a photo on her Instagram story of Collins kissing the Charleston trophy, the same photo that Alison Riske shared with the caption "Champion Day IX. Wow just wow."

Ashlyn Krueger also congratulated Collins on her story: "Congrats to you my sweet friend," she wrote with two trophy emojis. Tennis legend Billie Jean King also left a message for Collins on her story: "Cheers to Danielle Collins on back-to-back titles."
