Updated WTA Race to Riyadh as Danielle COLLINS moves into top four after dazzling double

The WTA Race has been updated not only this week with the destination of Riyadh but also with a new player inside the top four after the Charleston Open in Danielle Collins.
Collins produced a dazzling double as she sealed the Miami Open and Charleston Open back-to-back in her retirement year. In what would be her final event, it could yet be the icing on the cake for the American in that she could play her final tournament with a WTA Finals debut.
Technically too, the WTA Race heralds who are the best players in the world so on current points hauls, Collins could be construed as the fourth best in the world this year outside of Iga Swiatek, Elena Rybakina and Aryna Sabalenka all have won multiple titles or Grand Slams.
In the top eight, Qinwen Zheng, Coco Gauff and Jelena Ostapenko all fell due to Collins emergence. Jasmine Paolini is in the final spot after winning Dubai. Anna Kalinskaya, Maria Sakkari and Daria Kasatkina all sit just outside after reaching finals this season. With a cut off of around 8,000 points, there is still a long way to go but the current top four in particular emerge above the rest.
