Belarus’ tennis star
Aryna Sabalenka has given a check response
to a question on the social media about facing the men’s world number one player
Novak Djokovic.
The 25-year-old was asked by an unknown user on the social media
platform Instagram whether she thinks she can beat Djokovic in a contest.
In response to that, the current world number two in the
women’s singles category gave a cheeky response by writing: “Easy call [with an
smiling emoji”.
Sabalenka is regarded as one of the best players currently
playing in the women’s singles category. She lived up to the hype once again in
Melbourne where she lifted the first Grand Slam of the year — the Australian
Open — after beating China’s Qinwen Zheng in the final with a score of 6-3,
6-2.
It was Sabalenka’s second consecutive Australian Open title as
she won the competition last year as well where she defeated Elena Rybakina
with a score of 4–6, 6–3, 6–4.
Sabalenka’s great
start to the season was somewhat marred as she suffered a rather surprising defeat
against Croatia’s Donna Vekic in the second round of the Dubai Duty-Free
Championship with a score of 6-7, 6-3, 6-0.
