Aryna SABALENKA, ZHENG Qinwen and Coco GAUFF lead 2024 WTA Race Update after Australian Open

The 2024 WTA Race to the Finals has been updated after the 2024 Australian Open and despite players not knowing where they will be playing yet in November, Aryna Sabalenka as expected leads the way when it comes to those atop the standings.

Sabalenka has an ace in her pack too after reaching the final of the 2024 Brisbane International so she already has 325 points added so sits handily placed on 2,325 ahead of Zheng Qinwen on 1,375 points and Coco Gauff rounds out the top three on 1,030 points. Dayana Yastremska after her heroic run to the semi-finals sits fourth on 845 points, while Jelena Ostapenko rounds out the top five with 738 points.

Elena Rybakina, Iga Swiatek and Linda Noskova currently round out the top eight who would qualify for the WTA Finals. Of course there is still a long way to go and with players not knowing where it is outside of the rumoured Saudi Arabia bid, it will be an ongoing topic all season. But Sabalenka will likely already qualify come what may having sealed a Grand Slam title.
