Ashleigh Barty sails into round 4 at Australian Open

Hometown hopeful Ashleigh Barty continued her onslaught on the Australian Open with another stunning performance against Camila Giorgi 6-2 6-3.

Ashleigh Barty has been the most dominant tennis player so far in Melbourne and that did not change in her round 3 matchup against Camila Giorgi. Not many tennis player hit the ball as hard and as violent as Giorgi but Barty had no issues with that. Playing a balanced style of play she was able to break down the Italian and force her to commit a lot of mistakes.

On her own serve, she once again dominated rallies with a great opening shot, something that she has been doing consistently this year. She noted how big of a weapon it was for her and it was once again on display. She dropped only a handful of points on her 2nd serve and cruised in her own service games.

The first opened with an early lead and break for Barty who was up 3-0. Giorgio stabilized a bit and won a few games but was not able to put much pressure on Barty. The Australian wrapped it up with another break o make it 6-2. In the 2nd set things started off slowly for both. Neither had any chances and Giorgio looked sure of her game.

However, Barty quickly established control taking a 5-2 lead and closing out the match with 6-3. Truly impressive play by the Australian so far.
