The Athens Open is due to take place between 13-19 July. It is the first edition of the tournament and will take place at the Athens Olympic Tennis Centre in Athens, Greece.
The tournament replaces Jiangxi Open on the WTA schedule and marks a return to the WTA Tour for the first time in 35 years.
In the week post Wimbledon which was won by Linda Noskova, Maria Sakkari leads the way as the home hero. Clara Tauson, Barbora Krejcikova, Zheng Qinwen, Alycia Parks among others are involved. A top field for a WTA 250.
