Victoria Azarenka will battle
Madison Keys later today in a very crucial match for Keys who is seeking a spot at the WTA Finals.
Azarenka finally found some decent tennis here after weeks of rather poor play. The Belarusian player had an easy win in round one and then smashed Badosa 6-2 in the opening set after which the Spaniard retired.
She spoke after the match that you never want to advance that way but it happens:
"You never want anybody to retire, we go out here to compete and do our best. It's really sad that Paula wasn't able to finish the match. I hope she recovers quickly. I'm sure we're going to have a few more matches to play, so I'm looking forward to those."
Keys had far more to do to get to this matchup but she's playing really strong tennis at the moment but Vika is ready:
"We haven't played in a while, so it's going to be a good match for both of us," Azarenka said. "Not expecting too many rallies there. So we'll see."
It should be a really good matchup so don't miss it.
