Victoria Azarenka and
Paula Badosa put on an electrifying performance in Sunday's final at the BNP Paribas Open
Indian Wells tournament, with Badosa emerging victorious to lift her first WTA 1000 trophy.
After Badosa prevailed in three tight sets, the Spaniard was graceful in her victory speech, complimenting her Belarusian opponent. Furthermore, the 23-year old revealed she had been watching Azarenka since she was a teenager and hoped to one day play her in a final.
The praise was carried onto social media, where Badosa again thanked the former World No.1 for making being an inspiration and making her better. This prompted Azarenka to respond with "Rematch next year?😂."
Although there was some banter to the two-time Grand Slam champion's response, don't be surprised to see her again in the final as she has lifted the title twice and tends to play better in the desert.
