Victoria Azarenka humiliated Sofia Kenin with a donut at the Masters in Rome to continued her brilliant form after the season restart.
Kenin, the current
Australian Open champion who even put on her Instagram that she was suffering with jet lag didn't have a good day today on the court as she allowed herself to be utterly humiliated by
Victoria Azarenka who sent her packing in just 62 minutes. Victoria Azarenka has been one of the best player's since the restart and today she showed that she's still good on clay. The first set was a trashing by Vika who won, well, all six games.
It wasn't that Kenin played so terrible it was more so that Victoria was keen on smashing her. The first set was utterly terrible by Kenin who offered little to no resistance. Vika flew all over the court and she won it easily. The 2nd set was a bit more exciting but again Vika was determined to win every single point. Even in games like the 2nd game of set number 2 where Kenin saved several breakpoints, Vika was ruthless. She never stopped playing and always gave her maximum.
Ultimately we got a 62-minute trashing where the Belarusian won all 12 games played which are referred to as the "donut". Donuts are rare in tennis especially when you have two high-profile tennis players like today. Azarenka proved that her form is great even on clay and she will be a dangerous opponent moving forward. As for Kenin, well, this will sting for a while. Hopefully, she turned that into motivation ahead of the
French Open.
