Azarenka slams journalist for inappropriate picture used for Ekaterina Alexandrova win

Victoria Azarenka called out tennis journalist Jose Morgado for using a picture she felt was inappropriate to notify fans about Alexandrova beating Pliskova.

Morgado is a fairly known commodity in the tennis community as he offers up-to-date and excellent coverage of tennis event including the result of notable matches. Alexandrova was playing Pliskova in Doha and she defeated her with a superb display with Morgado notifying fans about it. The picture used for the tweet however caught all the attention and it showed Alexandrova bent over.

Azarenka called out the choice of picture:

“What a choice of picture for the tweet."

Morgado initially clapped back:

"Seriously? It was the first frame where the score/time graphic appeared on the screen."

Adding:

"Didn’t realize till I saw your tweet now. Deleted. Can’t really post anything here these days."

He deleted both tweets since then and simply added an apology:

"Deleted. This was the relevant information to illustrate what I tweeted. Not the background (obviously). Unfortunate and unintentional. Sorry. (It’s been a tough day…)"
