Belinda Bencic finishes off Pegula after rain delay to book final

Belinda Bencic finished off Jessica Pegula 7-5 7-6(5) on the day of the final to book her spot in the final after rain delayed their match yesterday.

It was a very interesting matchup between those players and defending champion Belinda Bencic was able to get another win over Pegula. Bencic has been the better player in this matchup as Pegula simply struggles to find a good solution against her. It was quite similar here too even if Pegula made a good start by breaking early.

She eventually lost that break and Bencic was able to take momentum on her side taking the set 7-5 in the end. The second set was interrupted by rain and finished one day later. We ended up in a tiebreak with Bencic winning 7-5 in the end. She'll face Ons Jabeur in the final later today and interestingly that's the final we saw last year too.
