Former Miami Open finalist Bianca Andreescu adds another win to her tally in Miami beating Sofia Kenin in straight sets 6-4 6-4.
Andreescu has downed another good tennis player in Miami this week and she's in the 4th round after three wins. First, she beat Raducanu, then she beat Sakkari and now Kenin avoiding three sets for the first time at this event. It was a competitive match but Andreescu showed off excellent composure in the entire match and just overall a very high level.
She needed only a handful of breaks in each set to get it done and was very clinical when presented with a chance to break. Kenin didn't save any of the break points she allowed while also using her only one. The first set was better for Andreescu overall on her serve as she didn't allow a single break point en route to a 6-4 final.
She got broke once in the second set but broke twice as well to get it done 6-4. Andreescu had 7 aces in the match and was pretty strong on her serve as well as on the return. She won over 50 % of points on Kenin's second serve which was the main problem for the American in this one. Overall a very deserving win for Andreescu.
