Bouchard receives main draw wildcard for WTA Guadalajara

Eugenie Bouchard to play in the WTA 1000 event in Guadalajara as the Canadian received a main draw wild card.

Bouchard was having a mini resurgence before her injury but her shoulder betrayed her and left her without tennis for over a year. She made her return recently playing some super solid tennis and winning a couple of matches.

She was using her protected ranking for a while but now is forced to accept wild cards and another one was given to her by the WTA 1000 event in Guadalajara. Bouchard was most recently in action in Cluj-Napoca where she retired due to a pulled muscle.

She did it because the pain was getting worse and she didn't want to make it any worse. It seems it wasn't as bad so she will play in Mexico next week. The wild card recipients other than Bouchard were Vekic and Contreras Gomez.
