Aryna Sabalenka was not happy about her exit from the
San Diego Open and she voiced it on the social media platform Instagram.
The Belarussian player arrived in San Diego with high hopes of getting some valuable points for the WTA Finals. She did rather well but ran into an inspired Donna Vekic who proved better in three sets as Sabalenka ran out of energy in the final set.
She wasn't happy about it because to her it was caused by the terrible scheduling that one day earlier went viral in the tennis community. It was pointed out by several media members on Twitter and it was picked up by the fans.
Sabalenka and Vekic played the first match on Friday despite the Belarusian playing the final match of the day the previous day. It looks even worse when you consider that Vekic was coming off a day off and scheduling it so early really did impact Sbaalenka, especially as she ran out of steam in the final set.
Her reaction was quite simple on social media. She posted the data of the night's sleep showing she did not much quality sleep and her caption said it all:
"Thanks for the great schedule."
