Although a champion will be crowned at the end of the World Team Tennis exhibition event, it is still being played in good spirits. This was evident by the actions of Canada's Eugenie Bouchard, who contributed to the levity during a recent match.

The former World No.5, who competes for the Chicago Smash, put aside her racket and acted as ball girl during her team's match. She was particularly active during Sloane Stephens match against Monica Puig. Stephens, who also plays for the Smash, is a good friend of the Canadian and the two have played doubles together on the WTA Tour.
Bouchard appeared on the court in her tennis uniform and amused the crowd by grabbing balls during several games. Stephens would go on to defeat Puig, who represents the Las Vegas Rollers, 5-1 in an easy win.
This year’s edition of the tennis event has been affected by the coronavirus pandemic, and hosts a limited crowd. Spectators have to wear masks and keep social distancing during matches to ensure player and fan safety.
