Harriet Dart battled hard but the Brit was unable to outlast
Caroline Garcia in another long match with France moving on to the
Billie Jean King Cup Finals.
The decisive point was earned by Garcia who won her second singles match in two days beating Dart in a match with a very interesting scoreline. It was 6-1 6-7(10) 6-1. The French player came out strong in the first set bombarding away with her groundstrokes hitting 11 winners en route to a 6-1 finish.
It was quite a convincing showing however the second set saw Dart battle back. The Brit held on pretty well against Garcia who was still playing well but Dart matched her well. At 4-4, the Brit lost her serve to give Garcia a chance to close it out but she lost her serve and we ended up in a tiebreak.
It was a good one with Dart ultimately winning 12-10. It seemed like Britain was in there for a while but Garcia quickly established control in the final one smashing her opponent once more for the 6-1 finish.
