Marta Kostyuk has left the draw wide open at the Qatar Open seeing off Coco Gauff 6-2, 7-5 and will face the winner of Magda Linette and Magdalena Frech.

It all fell apart for Gauff in the latter half as the American struck back-to-back double faults in what was her sixth and seventh of the match to give Kostyuk two match points. She converted the second as Gauff's backhand found the net.

Kostyuk had lost all three previous meetings to Gauff on hard courts. In particular the issues confounded Gauff who finished with 39 unforced errors and only eight winners. She has lost in Doha for the third straight time.

“Coco is an incredible fighter,” Kostyuk said in her on-court interview. “We always have incredible matches. I tried to stick to what I had to do. I’m very happy it worked out in two sets.”

Elsewhere in Doha today, Linda Noskova continued her form. She saw off Yulia Putintseva 6-2, 6-3. Sofia Kenin won the All American battle with Alycia Parks 7-6, 3-6, 6-2.

While Elena Rybakina rolled past Peyton Stearns 6-2, 6-4. Victories also for Jelena Ostapenko over Liudmila Samsonova as well as Elise Mertens. Mirra Andreeva is a set up on Rebecca Sramkova. While Jessica Pegula is on her way to the first set over Elina Svitolina.

Qinwen Zheng is currently facing Ons Jabeur while Aryna Sabalenka follows on. As does Daria Kasatkina in facing Elina Avanesyan. But when it comes down to Gauff, she is out. Will Sabalenka follow suit and will Swiatek only remain? Time will tell.
