👊 Pere Riba (Zheng Qinwen's former coach) and Coco Gauff (WTA No. 7) will start working together in Eastbourne next week.
Coco Gauff has been without a coach for a while after splitting with Diego Moyano and she is now trialing former player Pere Riba as her new coach.
Gauff split from Moyano earlier this year leaving herself without a coach. Her team always featured more than one coach as her father is technically the primary coach that still travels with her and oversees her career. During the duration of the clay season, Gauff enlisted the help of Patrick Mouratoglo whom she has known since 12.
Gauff trained at his academy for a while so he helped out a bit during the clay season though now the American turned her attention to Pere Riba. The Spaniard will be part of her team for the Eastbourne International event next week and Wimbledon without any confirmation of how long the trial will last.
The initial report came from MARCA though Gauff is yet to confirm or deny the hire. It's been a testing time for Gauff with some lacklustre performances on clay and even a switch to grass didn't change that much. Her forehand remains a glaring issue with many deadset on her career not moving forward the way she wants unless she fixes that issue.
