Coco Gauff is one win away from becoming the new World No. 1 in doubles. But if she and Jessica Pegula lose in tomorrow's final, China's Zhang Shuai will take over the top spot. #NBO22
Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula will contest the Toronto Masters double final later today and if they win, Guaff will become world number one in doubles.
One part of Gauff's rise that has been totally overlooked is her doubles play. The American has been a consistent doubles performer since bursting into the tennis spotlight and today marks a special chance for her. While mainly interesting in playing singles and having singles success Gauf never shied away from playing doubles.
She and McNally are quite famous as a doubles pairing but more recently, the young American is pairing up with Jessica Pegula as they are both high-ranked players that frequently play the same events . They've had quite a lot of success this year and a win today would push Gauff to number one.
They play Melichar and Perez at 21:00 CET.
