American tennis prodigy Coco Gauff already has a career several tennis superstars would crave for at her age. The 20-year old has added another accolade to her impressive resume, as she now ties former World No.1 Caroline Wozniacki for the most number of wins at a WTA 1000 event before turning 21.
Gauff is currently competing at the 2024 Rome Open, where she defeated Spaniard Paula Badosa to reach the quarterfinals. The American has been a force to be reckoned with during her time on tour, reaching as high as World No.3 and could even become the second-ranked player on tour should she win the title in Rome.
Nonetheless, the Atlanta native has been very successful at WTA 1000 events. After winning her first WTA 1000 event last year at the Cincinnati Masters, Gauff has continued to accumulate wins. Her impressive run has seen accumulate 60 wins at the WTA 1000 level during her career. Should she defeat China's Qinwen Zheng in the quarterfinals, she will stand alone as having the most WTA 1000 wins before turning 21 years of age.
