Danielle Collins keep on rolling with the American scoring another impressive win over
Ons Jabeur 6-2 6-4 to advance to the quarterfinal.
The American broke out in a major way during the Australian summer reaching the final of the Australian Open. She lost to now-retired Barty but it gave her a jolt of confidence that is visible in her play. Injuries derailed her Middle East campaigns however she returned in Miami and she is looking good.
It's not all champagne and roses as she is still battling some injuries in Miami but her campaign is still going strong. Facing off against a struggling Jabeur Collins took control of the match quite early with a break. Then she added another one to close out the first set with 6-2. Things were a bit more complicated in the 2nd set as Jabeur played a bit better.
She was holding her serve a bit easier than in the first set as Collins was unable to break her down. The final nail in the coffin for Jabeur came very late in the match when she was serving to stay in the match at 5-4. Collins got a match point and she converted it for the win. A great win and result for Collins who will climb a bit more on the rankings after this week.
