The actions of a fan at a recent American soccer game involving Angel City and KC Current has been deemed unacceptable by one of the players, who is being accused of autograph hunting.
Angel City play in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and are co-owned by WTA legend Serena Williams and her husband Alexis Ohanian. The Los Angeles-based team recorded a 3-2 win over KC Current in their most recent clash, but an incident by a fan marred the victory, at least according to Angel City defender Sarah Gorden.
According to a tweet circulated by a City fan, another fan called over one of the players' children before handing the youngster a jersey and pen and asked them to go and get an autograph from one of the players for him. The tweet was spotted by Gorden, who retweeted the alleged account, adding her own view on the matter.
“Do not take advantage of my baby like this! He is an empath and sweetheart so he listened to be respectful but his sensitivity needs to be protected and celebrated not used. Say hi and wave but don’t do this.”
Although the original account of the incident did not confirm which player's child had been asked to collect the autograph, the stern response from Gorden suggests that it was her own son.
This incident could lead to an investigation by the team owners and the league, as it raises concerns over the security and safety of player's family members during matches.

Last night, after the Angel City FC game, I saw a fan call over one of the players' kids and ask them to take his jersey and pen and go get an autograph from one of the players for him. Not cool.
