Custom kit reveal for Sabalenka as World No.2 begins US Open campaign

The world number two Aryna Sabalenka has revealed her custom kit for the upcoming US Open 2023.

The fourth and final Grand Slam of the year is set to begin on Monday where players from all over the world will participate to showcase their talent.

Sabalenka, in an Instagram post, revealed her custom kit for the mega-event and expressed her excitement to get onto the court.

“So excited to get my own custom @nike outfit for the @usopen ! Can’t wait to get on court and start serving some lewks,” she wrote.

Sabalenka will be slightly disappointed with her recent performances where on more than one occasion, she missed the chance of dethroning the current world number one Poland’s Iga Swiatek.

The first of those opportunities came in Wimbledon where a final spot would be enough to achieve that feat but she faltered in the last-four tie against Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur.

Later, the opportunity arose in the Cincinnati Open (Western & Southern Open) where a title victory was enough to make her the number one player, but once again she lost the semifinal.

The 25-year-old will be hoping to improve her overall performance at the US Open where she has never played in the final, despite playing in the semifinal for two consecutive years.

In 2021, she lost to Canada’s Leylah Fernandez in the last-four clash with a score of 7-6, 4-6, 6-4. A year later, she was once again on the losing side against Swiatek with a score of 3-6, 6-1, 6-4.
