Danielle Collins was merely a bench warmer when it came to the United Cup campaign which saw Team USA win but depending on your thoughts on the American, she left an iconic reaction or caused a stir with Iga Swiatek again.
Collins shook hands with Swiatek but did not make eye contact with the former World No.1 after her previous thoughts surrounding her after the Olympic Games. But she took it one step further.
Those who noted on her social media namely her Instagram, she changed her profile picture on Sunday night to her face after the handshake certainly playing up to the viral moment.
Team USA found their way past Poland on Sunday with Coco Gauff and Taylor Fritz leading from the front with singles wins with the latter in particular leading home the win in a tense deciding set tie-break. Collins as the second WTA player and not doubles didn't play a part in the tie.
Previously Collins has had her issues when it comes to Swiatek accusing her of fakeness in regards to her injury and comes on a day in which Swiatek also got into controversy for her own cold handshake against Coco Gauff.
“I told Iga she didn't have to be insincere about my injury,” Collins recalled after her own incident at the Olympic Games where she retired injured and found herself in a heated conversation with the then World No.1. “There's a lot that happens on camera, and there are a lot of people with a ton of charisma and come out and are one way on camera and another way in the locker room.
“I just haven't had the best experience, and I don't really feel like anybody needs to be insincere. They can be the way that they are. I can accept that, and I don't need the fakeness.”
