Day 3: Women's singles results in Cincinnati, Barty, Osaka and Pliskova remain in the fight for the world no.1 place

The third day at the Western & Southern Open didn't bring much surprise and so all favorites continue at the tournament in Cincinnati
The second round of women in Cincinnati did not meet with many surprises. In this round, the favorites managed to keep an eye on their matches, and almost all advanced to the last 16 at the Western & Southern Open.
Finally, players such as Osaka, Barty, Halep, Pliskova and Stephens also presented themselves on the courts. Some players needed up to 3 sets to win, but in the end each player managed the win.
Perhaps the biggest attraction in the third day's matches was the match between the two former world no.1's. Ashleigh Barty and Maria Sharapova were facing each other in the second round match and the Australian didn't give Sharapova a chance to do anything about the match.
And so the tournament continues in the fight for the title and another interesting fight. This is a fight for the post of world no.1, which can become up to 3 players after this tournament. Ashleigh Barty, Naomi Osaka and Karolína Pliskova. The closest to this is probably the current world 1 Osaka, who is about 300 points ahead of her rivals.
