Dayana Yastremska cleared of doping ban, can return to playing tennis

Dayana Yastremska has been finally cleared of her doping ban allowing her to return to tennis after several months of absence.

The 21-year old Yastremska was banned earlier in the year when WADA found a banned substance in a urine sample she provided. Yastremska initially appealed the ban but the International Tennis Federation rejected it. Yastremska then appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport which lifted her ban after an investigation.

The ITF posted a statement saying they accepted Ms. Yastremska's account of how the mesterolone entered her system and determined that she bore no fault or negligence for the violation.

The 21-year old posted a statement on her own social media channels saying:

"I am glad a relieved I have been cleared of any wrongdoing."

Yastremska finished off the statement saying that she could not wait to return to tennis as soon as possible. Read it below.
